Altex, which has supported many government agencies and commercial firms in quality, combustion and emissions control test services (see the clients page), has available several well instrumented combustion test facilities for your use. These facilities have been used in the past to test and develop burners, ranging from small-scale water heater and radiant burners, to larger scale burners that are designed for boiler applications up to 100MMBtu/hr (58.6 MW). Continuous monitoring of NOx, HC, CO, O2 and CO2, using proven measurement techniques, are available on all facilities. These facilities are modular and flexible, and can be adapted to specific user needs. A computerized data acquisition system is available, which monitors, displays and stores temperatures, emissions and all other needed variables. The same system is used to control test equipment, as needed. These include actuating valves and controlling equipment components. We pay special attention to the accuracy and quality of data. Proper equipment and proven testing procedures are used to assure valid measurements. Standard calibration procedures are followed before and during tests, to ensure the highest quality data.

Through validation testing, Altex has shown that these facilities produce test results that are consistent with large-scale commercial facilities. Therefore, credible product development and trial runs can be accomplished in these facilities, at low cost. Altex, being a technical services organization, can assist companies in proprietary or non-proprietary product test and development efforts. We can be very responsive, moving quickly to set up the equipment and support testing. Companies can utilize their own staff during tests, or rely on Altex to fully staff tests. We will work closely with you to ensure that the proper results are achieved in a timely manner, at the lowest possible cost.
