Dr. John T. Kelly, the president of Altex, has 30 years of experience in fuels, combustion and power systems. He
received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from The Cooper Union, and MS in Nuclear Engineering from the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a PhD in Aeronautics and Astronautics from the Polytechnic University
of New York. As president of Altex, he is responsible for the success of research, development and deployment
efforts, for a broad range of clients. Another focus for Dr. Kelly is business development, covering technology
areas of interest to Altex and our clients. His technical expertise is balanced between computer modeling and
experimental techniques for combustion and power systems. He has successfully developed and tested many low
emissions combustion systems, and holds five patents, and two pending, related to these systems. Also, he has
published over 50 technical articles. Prior to Altex, he acquired practical experience in power systems at Consolidated Edison
