Electrical/Control Engineer (Power Systems, Fuel Cells, Alternative Energy)

 

Job Description

 

A position is open for a dynamic Electrical/Controls Engineer candidate, with experience in the areas of power systems, fuel processing, fuel cells and alternative energy.  The position requires a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 2 to 5 years experience.  An ideal candidate will be an Electrical Engineer with some controls background, or a Control Systems Engineer with a strong electronics and power electronics background.  The candidate will have a strong analytical ability and will be responsible for developing electrical and control systems, including DC-DC converters, signal conditioning circuits, I/O interfaces and embedded control systems.  The candidate will report to the lead electrical engineer, and be responsible for selecting and designing hardware, control systems design and software programming.  The candidate will be expected to work on several projects simultaneously.  The candidate’s familiarity with National Instruments embedded control hardware and software products is highly desirable.

Altex provides very competitive benefits packages to all full-time employees.  Employees are provided three weeks Paid Time Off (PTO) and ten days of paid holiday.  Our insurance programs cover medical, dental, vision and worker’s compensation and life insurance.  Altex also has a retirement plan that employees qualify for, after one year of continuous employment with the company.  This program includes a tax deferred retirement account, which the employee controls through a family of mutual funds.  Historically, the company has contributed 5-10% of the employees’ base salary to the employees’ accounts.  In addition, bonus targets are set at the beginning of each yearly review period, which are executed if the staff meets the mutually agreed objectives.  Our interest in assembling the compensation package is to ensure that the staff is rewarded for making both Altex and themselves a success.
